Bomb Threat On Bus Reported In Route 1 Corridor: Police
A man who claimed to have explosives in his backpack led to an evacuation of a bus.

WOODLAWN, VA — A man is facing charges tied to the bomb threat of a Fairfax Connector bus south of Alexandria City, according to Fairfax County Police.
Around 10:22 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the bomb threat in the 8700 block of Richmond Highway in the Woodlawn area. Officers learned Blake Davis Norton, 57, of no fixed address, claimed he had a bomb in his backpack before boarding a Fairfax Connector bus.
Police located the bus and evacuated the area. With help from the police department's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, the backpack was determined to not have any explosives.

Norton was arrested and charged with threats to bomb or burn. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond.
