A Book To Keep Is A Wonderful Gift for Children In Need

Help Children Experience the Joy of Choosing a Book and Expanding Their Horizons

Assistance League partners with Title 1 elementary schools throughout Northern Virginia to serve low-income children with limited resources. The non-profit helps students at these schools develop a love of reading and sense of pride in owning books of their own through its Build A Child’s Library program. These events are held once a year at each partner school where every student in the school gets to choose a book that interests them.

You can share in the delight these students experience in choosing their books by making your own selections from Assistance League's December wish list featuring a wide range of books. Use this link: https://tiny.alnv.org/7gs or scan the QR code on the flyer to make a selection. Please select the Assistance League of Northern Virginia as the shipping address to assure prompt delivery. If you would prefer not to order through Amazon, you can pay by personal check for these items. Please send your check, made out to ALNV, to P.O. Box 209, Herndon, VA 20172 and include "Wish List/month" in the memo line. (E.g., if you order in December, please write Wish List/December.

Many of the students served have few books of their own. The gift of a good book is a wonderful way to help a child in need during this season of giving. Learn more about Assistance League’s programs by visiting www.alnv.org.
