Cherry Blossom Experiences Planned In Alexandria As Peak Bloom Approaches

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Whether you plan to head to the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossom trees at their peak or want to avoid the crowds, there are events for everyone coming up.

The National Park Service already announced the anticipated peak bloom will happen from March 28 to 31. That falls within the National Cherry Blossom Festival from March 20 to April 13, with ongoing and special events drawing visitors to Washington, D.C.

Alexandria will get in on the cherry blossom fun, too. There will be cruises and bike rides to the cherry blossoms along with other cherry blossom-themed experiences.

Here are the cherry blossom activities planned in Alexandria:

Fleeting: An Exhibition of Artists from Torpedo Factory Art Center Celebrating Cherry Blossoms: Feb. 15 to April 27

This exhibit at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center is a part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. It was juried and curated by artist Laurel Lukaszewski, who also designed the 2025 National Cherry Blossom official lapel pin and is a National Cherry Blossom Festival emeritus board member.

Ethereal Blooms at Torpedo Factory Art Center: March 1 to 31

Visit Studio 28 in the Torpedo Factory Art Center to see artwork that Enamelists Gallery members have been inspired to make this spring.

Cherry Blossom Festival in a Crystal Coup Glass at Elaine's: Weekdays, March 14 to April 16

Enjoy the view of the cherry blossom tree outside while sipping on a Cherry Blossom Sakura Cocktail.

Spring Afternoon Tea at Mount Vernon: March 21 and 23

Celebrate spring with an afternoon tea at Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant. Two dates are available for seatings between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The cost is $70 per person.

Cherry Blossom Monuments Sightseeing Cruise: Saturdays and Sundays, March 22 to April 13

This 90-minute round-trip cruise by City Cruises travels along the Potomac River near the cherry blossom trees.

Cherry Blossom Guided Tours with Pedego Electric Bikes Alexandria: March 15 to April 13

this three-hour guided electric bike tour from Old Town Alexandria includes a. ride through the cherry blossoms around East Potomac Park. Weekend tours fill up quickly.

Water Taxi to Wharf to See Cherry Blossoms: March 20 to April 12

This 25-minute direct cruise to The Wharf in Washington, D.C. is a 10-minute walk to the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin.

Embroidery 101: Cherry Blossoms: March 29

Miri of Capital Stitch Co., will instruct this Made in ALX workshop to stitch cherry blossoms. The workshop runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and costs $50.
