City to Host Memorial Day Ceremony at the Captain Rocky Versace Plaza

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The “Friends of Rocky Versace” will host the 14th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony in Alexandria on Monday, 30 at 11 a.m., the City announced Friday.

 The ceremony will be held at the Captain Rocky Versace Plaza and Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Mount Vernon Recreation Center 2701 Commonwealth Ave. in Del Ray.

The approximately one-hour ceremony will honor Rocky Versace, a posthumous Medal of Honor recipient, Ranger Hall of Fame inductee, Distinguished Member of the Special Forces Regiment and Distinguished Member of The Old Guard Regiment. 

The ceremony will also honor the 66 other Alexandrians who died during the Vietnam War and all members of the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.
