Update: City Schedule for Christmas Tree Collection

The once-glittery Christmas trees may be set out at the curb for recycling collection beginning mid-January.

Trees will be picked up by Alexandria's city services on Saturday, Jan. 14 and Saturday, Jan. 21. On those days, trees picked up will be recycled into mulch. The city asks that residents remove any ornaments and other decor on trees going into the recycling process,

Trees placed on the curb or alley on other days with regular trash for pick up will be disposed of as trash - and not recycled.
