Crime Report for Old Town Alexandria
March was a busy month for both police and criminals. Stolen vehicles, slashed tires, missing lawn ornamentation, graffiti, breaking and entering and more

The following information was provided to www.crimereports.com by the Alexandria Police Department.
Mar. 17 – A store owner reported that a customer came in, browsed the store and went to the back of the store. The store owner then discovered that a large sum of money had been taken from her purse at 3:11 p.m. in the 200 block of King St.
Mar. 16 – The City of Alexandria parking sticker was stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of S. Union St. where it was parked in front of the owner’s residence around 4:06 p.m.

Mar. 16 – A breaking and entering was reported in the 1200 block of King St. at 4:21 a.m. The case is pending. Unknown suspects entered the facility by smashing a window. They stole five cell phones.
Mar. 16 – Unknown suspects stole coins from a console in an unlocked vehicle parked in front of the owner’s residence in the 400 block of S. Lee St. around 9:50 a.m.

Mar. 15 – Graffiti on a brick wall was reported in the 300 block of N. Columbus St. at 8:49 a.m.
Mar. 15 – Unknown suspect removed personal property from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of N. Columbus St. at 10:55 a.m.
Mar. 15 – Suspect was arrested for possession of a knife in the 1000 block of Madison St.
Mar. 15 – A windshield was damaged on a vehicle at Cameron and N. West streets at 11:22 a.m.
Mar. 14 – A listed known suspect entered a church by unknown means at 11:57 a.m. in the 200 block of S. Pitt St. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
Mar. 14 – Personal property was removed from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of N. Fairfax St. at 7:39 p.m.
Mar. 14 – Two front tires were slashed on a vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot behind owner’s residence on the 500 block of S. Alfred St. at 10:02 a.m.
Mar. 14 – Someone was arrested for being drunk in public in the 400 block of S. Columbus St. around 1:58 a.m.
Mar. 14 – Unknown suspects stole two cast iron flower pots and stands from the steps of a residence located in the 400 block of Princess St. around 11:05 a.m.
Mar. 13 – Shoplifting offenses occurred in the 400 block of S. Washington St. at 9:50 p.m.
Mar. 12 – Suspect was charged with possession of marijuana in the 1300 block of Princess St. at 10:38 p.m. and in a separate case, the same charge was made in the 900 block of N. Alfred St.
Mar. 12 – Shoplifting occurred in the 300 block of King St. at 11:14 p.m.
Mar. 11 – Unknown suspects stole the City of Alexandria resident parking sticker off of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of S. Fayette St. at 11:28 a.m.
Mar. 11 – Suspect was arrested for an open container of alcohol in the 1500 block of Princess St. at 11:35 p.m.
Mar. 11 – A missing vehicle was recovered in the 1200 block of N. Fayette St. at 2:08 p.m.
Mar. 10 – Someone keyed a car on the hood and a door while it was parked in the 200 block of N. Lee St.
Mar. 9 – Victim was cut on the head with a knife by one of two subjects he requested to leave the restaurant in the 1000 block of N. Henry St. The patrons were disorderly and left after the employee requested they leave. However, they waited outside and wounded the worker while he did his chores. An arrest was made.
Mar. 8 – A small ceramic statue was stolen from a planter in front of a residence located in the 200 block of Prince St. at 9:54 a.m.
Mar. 8 – A vehicle was stolen from a parking spot in the 300 block of N. Union St. while the owner was having lunch nearby around 2:25 p.m.
Mar. 8 – A cell phone was taken from a restaurant patron’s purse at 4:02 p.m. in the 200 block of King St.
Mar. 7 – An auto repair shop notified the owner of a car that someone stole his vehicle from the shop’s parking area at 6:08 p.m. in 300 block of N. Henry St.
Mar. 7 – A suspect was charged with possession of marijuana in the 1200 block of Duke St. at 9:35 p.m.
Mar. 7 – Victim reported that unknown suspects stole her vehicle while it was parked in the 400 block of N. Pitt St. at 12:31 p.m.
