Five Arrests Made for DWI During Roaming Enforcement Effort
Alexandria Police stopped 105 vehicles and arrested five drivers for driving while intoxicated

Alexandria police conducted a roaming Driving While Intoxicated enforcement effort to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers from 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26, to 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27.
Vehicle drivers committing traffic infractions were stopped and drivers were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs.
During the roaming enforcement effort, 105 vehicles were stopped and five arrests were made for DWI. In addition, 75 summonses were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses and 30 traffic violation warnings were given, according to the Alexandria Police.

Eleven Alexandria officers and one Alexandria Sheriff’s deputy participated in the effort.
