Heat Wave Cancels Outdoor Concert in Alexandria

Temperatures are supposed to feel like 100 degrees at times this weekend.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Doug Thurman Summer Concert Series at Carlyle House: Free Flowing Music Experience, has been canceled due to the weather forecast for extreme heat Saturday in Alexandria.

The concert is rescheduled for Saturday, August 13, according to organizers.

The event, at Carlyle House Historic Park, 121 North Fairfax St., is part of a series of concerts by local groups held on the Carlyle House front lawn on selected Saturday evenings during the summer. The concerts are free with a suggested donation of $5.
