HenQuarter Opening Wednesday in Old Town Alexandria
Eatery with Southern-inspired menu will take the place of Austin Grill on Old Town's King Street.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- HenQuarter, serving up a downhome Southern menu, plans to open its doors Wednesday at 801 King St., in Old Town Alexandria.
The restaurant, owned by Reston-based Thompson Hospitality, takes the place of Tex-Mex eatery Austin Grill.
The lunch menu at HenQuarter includes deviled eggs and biscuits, a Southern fried chicken salad, shortrib sandwich, pulled smokehouse barbecue chicken and more. Prices on the lunch menu range from $5 to $11 for appetizers, $12 to $15 for salads and $13 to $18 for entrees. A more extensive menu and slightly higher prices are offered for "supper."

The Alexandria location will be the first to reopen with the new concept. “We’re excited to launch a new concept from Thompson’s Table, brought to life by chef Fred Raynaud, named HenQuarter—Southern Fare and Free Range Cocktails,” a spokeswoman for the restaurant's parent company recently told Bethesda magazine. “The concept features an elevated classic Southern menu, with some of the stars of the show being our craveable fried chicken, 48-hour braised short rib and exceptional bourbon bar. We look forward to meeting and serving our guests a big dose of Southern hospitality later this year.”
Hours for the new restaurant are:
