Homes Database MRIS Taps Old Town Alexandria as a Top 'Green' Neighborhood in the Metro Area

MRIS, which operates the nation's largest home listing service at homesdatabase.com, used its data to craft the list

Old Town Alexandria is one of 10 top “green” neighborhoods in the greater D.C. area as ranked by MRIS, the nation’s largest database of homes for sale via homesdatabase.com.

MRIS compiled the list by collecting the most recent data it owns on specific neighborhood homes, and surveying local parks and area green initiatives. Based on this hyperlocal data, MRIS selected Old Town as one of the top green neighborhoods in the greater D.C. area.

MRIS selected Old Town Alexandria for being home to the first LEED certified condo building in the state of Virginia - the Cromley Lofts at 1210 Queen St. “It also takes part in all of Alexandra’s green initiatives, including the Green Building Policy and the Go Green Alexandria project,” according to MRIS.

“Research has proven that homes with green features can reduce energy bills, preserve the local environment, and potentially lead to higher resale values, even in a recovering market,” said MRIS Product Manager Tim Campbell.
