Inova Oakville Facility Sees 40K Patient Visits In First Year
Inova is marking one year of its Oakville facility as it prepares for future facilities in Alexandria and its eastern region.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — As Inova marks one year since its Inova Health Center Oakville opened in a growing part of Alexandria, the health system says it topped 40,000 patient visits in the first year.
The Inova facility is part of a redevelopment of the Oakville area along Richmond Highway between Potomac Yard and Del Ray. The Inova Health Center Oakville location offers primary care, specialty care, outpatient surgery, diagnostics as well as a 24/7 emergency department.
According to Inova, it has served 26,000 patients in primary and specialty care, completed 1,300 procedures at its ambulatory surgery center, and had 13,000 emergency department visits.

"These numbers reflect a compassionate, collaborative team that is deeply committed to delivering excellent care," said Dr. Rina Bansal, president of Inova Alexandria Hospital. "Oakville has become a model of innovation across Inova—demonstrating how thoughtful design, strong culture, and integrated services can transform the patient experience. We could not be more proud of what this team has built."
The health system says the Oakville facility was the first to implement its new design and patient care standards, a result of input from hundreds of employees, patients and families. Inova says its new model aims to improve patient flow, reduce barriers to care and improve collaboration.
