Keira Moran to Debut Original Song Friday on iTunes

TC Williams grad plans to donate 100 percent of profits to Combat Soldiers Recovery Fund.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Mixing her songwriting and singing skills with the family business of politics, Keira Moran will release a new recording Friday and she has a message for Donald Trump, the GOP presidential nominee.

Moran, a T.C. Williams graduate and granddaughter of former Congressman James P. Moran (D-8th), recorded a song she wrote, titled "Bishops and Kings," this summer in Los Angeles with seven-time Grammy nominee Graham Edwards.

The song will debut Friday on iTunes, and Moran plans to donate 100 percent of the profits to the Combat Soldiers Recovery Fund and also plans to perform for recovering soldiers at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Originally intended merely as a fundraiser for a worthy cause, Moran says she also hopes to convey what it means to make sacrifices and specifically targeted Trump in an announcement about her song release:

"Sacrifice is not when a billionaire gets shamed into donating a million dollars he has already promised to give," she said. "It is when your only wealth is your family and your country and the person next to you fighting for the same country. Sacrifice is when you are willing to risk letting go of all that wealth so others can hold onto it. Trump does not understand that, but a lot of people do and I want the soldiers who defend our freedom, especially the ones who pay a terrible price for doing so, to know that.”
