Living Legends of Alexandria Opens 2017 Nominations
Nominations for Living Legends must be received by July 31, 2016.

ALEXANDRIA, VA --The Living Legends of Alexandria board of directors welcomes the public to nominate individuals who have made outstanding contributions to improve the quality of life for citizens of Alexandria for recognition as Living Legends, the board announced Wednesday.
To be eligible for consideration as a Living Legend, one of two criteria must be met:
- The nominee has led the creation of something new or the redevelopment of something established that improves and positively impacts the quality of life in the City of Alexandria that would not exist without the nominee's vision, work and determination to make it happen.
- The nominee has demonstrated substantial and sustained contributions to the quality of life in the City of Alexandria through a significant period of years of service in leadership and/or project management roles especially on boards, commissions, and committees and/or in civic or nonprofit organizations.

Living Legends of Alexandria is a non-profit organization dedicated to honor and chronicle individuals who have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Alexandria. An annual Living Legends Catalog documents the work of this year's class of Legends through photography and journalism, and is collected by the Virginia Library and the Library of Congress. Living Legends Exhibitions are archived by the Office of Historic Alexandria.
