Lyles-Crouch Seeks Community Action to Win $50K Grant

Clorox's Power for a Bright Future grant could provide up to $50,000 for a new playground.

Alexandria public elementary school is in the running for a $50,000 grant to refurbish its playground.

“Our playground is an asset for all the residents in our neighborhood but it needs a major refurbishment," said PTA President Caroline Schropp. "The Power for a Bright Future grant from Clorox could mean up to $50,000 to create a safer and cleaner playground for our students and families in the area.”

Lyles-Crouch is a diverse city school with a playground used by city baseball leagues and the entire community. The PTA board says it believes an improved playground will promote better health and well-being, a sense of community and fight obesity.
