Mediterranean Restaurant Seeks to Open at Bistrot Lafayette Location
Restaurant owners say no major structural changes will be made to the building.
The former Bistrot Lafayette on King Street soon will house a restaurant serving Mediterranean and other foods, if its new owners succeed in the city’s approval process.
The owners of the French restaurant and piano bar announced recently they planned to close this month.
The applicants operating under the company name Gnosis LLC say no structural changes will be made to the building other than some new paint and upgraded kitchen equipment.

The new restaurant proprietors, who are listed as Ioannis Voliotis, Vasiliki Volioti [sic) and Efthalia Dhana according to city documents, plan to continue to include seating for about 80 patrons.
The restaurant located at 1118 King also will serve Italian, Greek and American foods.
