Person With Medical Emergency Found During Fire Response In Alexandria

The Alexandria Fire Department found a person with a medical emergency during a fire response at an apartment building.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A person with a medical emergency was found in an Alexandria apartment during a fire response Friday, according to the fire department.

Units are on scene of an apartment building at 5140 Fillmore Avenue after a fire was reported on the sixth floor. Units forced entry to an apartment and found an adult unconscious and suffering cardiac arrest. Personnel provided aid to the person, who was taken to the hospital with advanced medical support.

Firefighters contained the small fire to the originating apartment unit. There was no extension of the fire to other units reported.
