Mom's Talk: The Tooth Fairy

Just how much does the tooth fairy leave for a tooth at your house?

My daughter has lost five teeth over the last year. The tooth fairy has managed to find a lost tooth (and leave a gift) while tent camping, on vacation and just while the tooth loser has been sleeping in her regular old bed.

When the tooth fairy is prepared, Mrs. Fairy has left a gold dollar coin twice, and a another time a $2 bill. Once Mr. and Mrs. Fairy didn't coordinate and so each left a present under the pillow. That day, the lucky little girl got $10 for a lost tooth. Once, she got a seahorse magnet, which was by far the biggest success.

We hear stories at school about how "so and so" got $100 for a tooth. We're doubtful, but not quite disbelieving.
