ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Cheers to Mom! It's Mother's Day on Sunday and that means some will be taking Mom out for brunch. What better place to go than somewhere around town? Looking for ideas?

Here are some top favorites from Yelp reviewers:

  • Del Ray Cafe, 205 E. Howell Ave. in Del Ray; Cristy says: "We've now been to DRC twice--once for Mother's Day Brunch and once last night, for my birthday dinner. I can't say enough about this place! Not only is it located in hip and trendy Del Ray, the decor is charming, and the kitchen and dining spaces are surgically clean."
  • Jackson 20, 480 King St., in Old Town Alexandria; Jason B. says: "Stopped by for Mother's Day brunch on a whim. They told us they were booked with reservations, but would try to seat us in 30 minutes. 5 minutes later we were seated with our 2 year old and had a great experience. The service was great. The B.E.L.T. sandwich was incredible and definitely plan to go back just for that."
  • Chadwicks, 203 Strand St., in Old Town Alexandria; Saira A. says: "Came here for Sunday brunch. We called ahead for three and were seated within fifteen minutes of our arrival. They had a $4 Bloody Mary/mimosa special which we definitely took advantage of. My Bloody Mary was delicious! For brunch I ordered the Eggs Chesapeake which consisted of two poached eggs on top of crab cakes on English muffins with bearnaise sauce and potatoes on the side. It was so good!"
  • Bastille, 606 N. Fayette St., North Old Town Alexandria: Ken C. says: "I rarely give out 4 stars to a restaurant in this area, but Iast week I did enjoy the brunch experience. I have the Brunch Prix fixe for $29. Beignet of shrimp, Eggs Benedict, and raspberry Bread pudding. The service is great, we have an awesome waitress that do everything she can to ensure we enjoy the brunch."
  • Fat City Kitchen, 330 S. Pickett St., West End Alexandria: Patrick G. says: "Elevates brunch to the next level for a good price. My fiancée and I are recent graduates and if we can go there, it's affordable. We've only been for brunch but they are 2-for-2 with excellent service and food. I had the blueberry French toast and it was awesome. We got a side of grits and they were nice and cheesy (which is to say, I like them that way.)"
  • Columbia Firehouse, 109 S. St. Asaph St., Old Town Alexandria; Mike B. says: "Mother's Day brunch was excellent! We had the Belgian waffles with strawberries. They came out with whipped cream, butter and of course hot syrup, done to perfection with just a little crunch. Just a romantic place off the main drag in Old Town on a beautiful sunny day sitting outside with great food and my beautiful wife. How could you ask for more!"
  • Warehouse Bar & Grill, 214 King St., Old Town Alexandria; Briana D.: "I have only had their brunch here, but I have always enjoyed all my experiences. The staff are very attentive and the food is delicious. A great place to go on a date, lunch with your friends/family, or have a small celebratory get together. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. Also, don't forget to look at all the framed drawings on the walls, it gives the place a lot of character and charm."
  • Tempo, 4231 Duke St., West End Alexandria; Hannah H. says: "I had this restaurant on my list for a while; we always pass by it and we finally tried them out for their Sunday brunch. We made reservations via Open Table, just in case. I was surprised at how very bright and cheerful it was inside the restaurant."
  • Vermilion, 1120 King St., Old Town Alexandria; Jackie L. says: "It was a fantastic meal and very satisfying! Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and no one had anything negative to say. The experience was delightful and it's a very cozy and warm yet open restaurant. It's really just a great food experience if you enjoy great local cuisine. This is a superb brunch restaurant and I can only imagine how the dinners are!"
  • Walker’s Grille, 6909 Metro Park Dr., Kingstowne; Meredith V. says: "I've lived in Kingstowne now for a couple years and have frequented Walker's Grille quite often and I have to say, it's probably the best independent restaurant in town. Since my initial review, they've gotten a new chef, they have an amazing brunch menu, and a great outdoor patio with heat lamps, which makes it very inviting in the cooler months."
