New Partnership Offers Employment Resource for Seniors

An Alexandria resource for seniors has allied with a similar group based in Annandale to provide an employment-counseling program to seniors in the City of Alexandria.

Senior Services of Alexandria and Senior Employment Resources of Annandale have partnered to bring the Annandale-based senior employment counseling program to Alexandria.

The agreement between the organizations allows job seekers to meet with SER employment counselors at the SSA office at 700 Princess St. in Old Town Alexandria. SER counselors provide help with resumes, interview skills and guidance to further training.

“SSA receives so many calls from seniors looking for help in finding employment. This new agreement with SER will give them local support and the tools they need for a successful job search,” said Mary Lee Anderson, director of the Senior Resource Center at SSA.
