Alexandria Under Coastal Flood Warning

King and Union streets saw some minor flooding on Thursday due to the heavy rains

King and Union streets saw some minor flooding this morning due to the steady, sometimes heavy rains Wednesday night and Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood warning for the City of Alexandria until 3 a.m. on Friday. A coastal flood warning means that flooding is occurring or imminent. Residents should be alert for rising water.

Tides are expected to be two to three feet above normal. High tide was at 11:24 a.m. on Thursday, and will be at 12:05 a.m. on Friday. During high tide, moderate tidal flooding is possible.
