Outstanding ACPS Teacher Nominations Being Accepted

Annual contest hosted by The Washington Post.

Nominations are being accepted for the Alexandria City Public Schools entry in the annual Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Awards sponsored by The Washington Post.

Any teacher with five years of experience, including at least three years with ACPS, is eligible for nomination, which may be made by teachers, students, former students, parents, administrators or the general public. Teachers may not nominate themselves.

Nominations are due by Friday, Jan. 13, to Kelly Alexander, ACPS Director of Communications and Public Relations, 2000 N. Beauregard St., Suite 204, Alexandria, Va. 22311. Nominators do not need to submit photographs of the nominees.

A panel of ACPS educators will select the winner. The Washington Post will announce all local districts' winners after Mar. 16 and hold an awards ceremony in May.
