Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Multiple Bank Robberies

Suspect linked to bank robberies in Alexandria and Fairfax County.

Alexandria detectives have charged Michael Briscoe, 43, of Washington, D.C., with a Sept. 7 robbery that occurred at the SunTrust Bank located at 3610 King Street.

On Friday, Sep. 30, at approximately 10:30 a.m. officers responded to that SunTrust branch for a suspicious person in the lobby of the bank.

Employees at the bank recognized the man as the suspect from the earlier robbery that occurred at the same branch on Sept. 7. Officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. No robbery occurred that day.

Further investigation revealed that Briscoe was a suspect in two bank robberies in Fairfax County. Detectives in Fairfax have charged Briscoe for a bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the SunTrust Bank located at 7205 Commerce Street in Springfield. They also charged Briscoe with another bank robbery that occurred on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Bank of America located at 5707 Seminary Rd. in the Bailey's Crossroad area.
