Police Investigating Old Town Bank Robbery
TD Bank on S. Washington Street is the second Alexandria bank robbed in as many days.

Alexandria police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon bank robbery in Old Town, the second bank robbery in Alexandria in as many days.
At around 4:30 p.m., a man entered the TD Bank located at 119 S. Washington St. and handed the teller a note saying he had a weapon and demanded money, according to a press release from the Alexandria Police Department.
The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the bank, police said. There were no injuries.

Police offered no description of the suspect.

A man robbed the SunTrust Bank in the Alexandria Commons shopping center in a similar manner on Tuesday.

A man walked into SunTrust at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and asked to use the restroom, police said.
After coming out of the restroom he walked up to a teller and implied he had a weapon, police said. He fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The same Old Town TD Bank was robbed in December.

Anyone with information about the bank robberies is asked to call the Alexandria police at 703-746-6711. Witnesses can remain anonymous.
