Police Reports: Power Company Scam on King Street, Vehicle Thefts in Old Town

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in Old Town.

Note: The addresses listed below indicate blocks and not specific addresses of incidents.

Aug. 3

8:13 a.m. — A theft was reported in the 700 block of King Street.

Aug. 2

4:57 p.m. — A breaking-and-entering incident was reported in the 900 block of King Street.

4:03 p.m. — A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of Prince Street.

2:18 p.m. — A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of Oronoco Street.

12:50 p.m. — A theft was reported in the 400 block of N. Fayette Street.

4:53 a.m. — An arrest was made for driving under the influence at the corner of King and Henry streets.

3:09 a.m. — A suspect was arrested at the corner of King and Washington streets for suspicion of being drunk in public.

12:11 a.m. — A suspect was arrested for being drunk in public in the 100 block of N. Alfred Street.

Aug. 1

11:52 p.m. — An arrest was made for a narcotic offense in the 900 block of Wythe Street.

8:45 p.m. — A robbery was reported in the 1300 block of Braddock Place.

4:18 p.m. — A tampering with an automobile offense was reported in the 400 block of Euille Street.

12:14 p.m. — A vehicle was reported stolen at the corner of N. Royal and Oronoco streets.

10:12 a.m. — A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1200 block of S. Washington Street.

9:55 a.m. — A vehicle theft was reported in the 900 block of Cameron Street.

2:55 a.m. — An assault incident was reported involving several people who had been drinking alcohol at an establishment in the 800 block of King Street.

July 31

12:20 p.m. — A tampering with an automobile offense was reported in the 500 block of N. Henry Street.

11:22 a.m. — A theft was reported in the 300 block of Commerce Street.

July 30

7:04 p.m. — A shoplifting offense was reported in the 600 block of King Street.

4:27 p.m. — A shoplifting offense was reported in the 500 block of King Street.

3:43 p.m. — A victim paid money to unknown subjects fraudulently identifying themselves as representatives of the Virginia Power Company so they would not turn off the power at a restaurant in the 200 block of King Street.

2:21 p.m. — All four tires and rims were reported stolen from a car parked in a garage in the 400 block of Holland Lane.

11:29 a.m. — Graffiti was reported in the 1300 block of Wilkes Street.

10 a.m. — A secured bicycle was reported stolen in the 200 block of S. West Street.

July 29

2:19 p.m. — Spray-painted graffiti was discovered on the back of a stop sign in the 100 block of S. Union Street.

11:23 p.m. — A victim reported two UPS/FedEx packages were stolen from the front steps of his residence in the 100 block of Harvard Street.

9:30 a.m. — All four tires and rims were reported stolen from a car parked in a garage in the 800 block of John Carlyle Street. Another vehicle had a window broken and a custom-built stereo system, gold chain and sunglasses were reported stolen.

6:42 a.m. — The window on the passenger-side door of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of N. Peyton Street was smashed and a GPS unit was reported stolen from the vehicle.

July 28

1:57 p.m. — Three cameras and a notebook were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of N. Peyton Street. The victim said the doors were locked.

12:54 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 1100 block of N. Fayette Street.

July 27

5:39 a.m. — An arrest was made for possession of PCP in the 500 block of Duke Street.
