RailStop Gastropub Opens for Business

The restaurant, which bills itself as 'one step above pub grub' is located in the Crowne Plaza Hotel and has great views of the water

RailStop Gastropub has just opened its doors for business in Old Town.

The gastropub, located on the second floor of the , is a 76-seat restaurant specializing in house-made sausages of pork or seafood.

The decor includes leather pin-cushion banquettes separated by etched glass partitions  as well as table and bar seating.

The room is decorated with vintage posters highlighting train destinations around the United States, and chalkboard menus surround the bar displaying the pub’s menu created by Executive Chef Mark Henry. 

Bar snacks include tots and fried pickles; main courses range from steak frites to vegetarian strudel; and the menu offers fare such as the RailStop Burger with a Touch of “Smoke” to Old Dominion Lager Battered Fish and Chips.

The beer menu specializes in micro and local brews.   

The RailStop Gastropub, 901 N. Fairfax St., is open seven days a week 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and offers a daily happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
