Record Store Moving from DC to Alexandria
Crooked Beat Records, specializing in hard to find new and used vinyl records, announced Wednesday they plan to move to the City.
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The City of Alexandria has plenty of music venues and festivals and now it can add a record store to its music mix, with the addition of Crooked Beat Records.
The store specializes in "hard to find new and used vinyl records of independent label music and obscure major label releases existing outside the radar of the mainstream," according to its Web site.
The record store announced Wednesday its plans to move to Alexandria from the Adams Morgan neighborhood in Washington, D.C., where it was located for the past 12 years.

The store will be located at 802 N. Fairfax St. (see map below), two blocks from the waterfront in Alexandria and hopes to open at the new location at the end of August. A sign posted on their Facebook page notes they were at the DC location on 18th Street; they closed at that location in May, according to the company's Web site.
The 802 N. Fairfax St. location was formerly home to a beer, wine and spirits store called Au Domaine.
