SafeTrack Surge #4: Pentagon City to Reagan National Airport
For one week, starting Tuesday, no trains running between National Airport and Pentagon City; Crystal City Station closed.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- SafeTrack Surge #4 begins Tuesday, according to Metro. Metro will shut down the segment between National Airport and Pentagon City for one week starting Tuesday. Here's what it means for Blue and Yellow Line commuters:
On weekdays:
- Blue Line trains will operate in two segments:
- Trains will run every 12 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and National Airport.
- Trains will run every 12 minutes between Pentagon City and Largo.
- Yellow Line trains will operate in two segments:
- Trains will run every 12 minutes between Huntington and National Airport.
- Trains will run every 12 minutes between Pentagon City and Greenbelt.
- No Rush+ Yellow trains will be operating
- Blue/Yellow customers are encouraged to consider alternate travel options and avoid traveling during rush hour if possible; expect significant crowding on Blue and Yellow line trains
- FREE high-frequency express Metroway shuttles will operate between Braddock Road, Crystal City and Pentagon City.
- FREE Metrobus shuttle buses will operate between Braddock Road and Pentagon City stations.
- FREE Metrobus shuttle buses will operate between Pentagon City, Crystal City and National Airport.
All through customers traveling to/from DC should use shuttle buses between Braddock Road and Pentagon City to continue their trip. Northbound customers should exit at Braddock Rd for shuttle. Do NOT stay on the train until National Airport. (Shuttles to/from the airport are LIMITED and should be for airport customers only)

Weekend train frequencies may change to coordinate with other planned track work on the Metrorail system. Weekend service information is posted in the Alerts & Advisories section
Customers are encouraged to use Metroway to increase capacity and options for travel between areas surrounding Braddock Rd, Potomac Yard, Crystal City and Pentagon City stations. Tap your SmarTrip card each time you enter and exit the Metrorail system. Riders traveling through the work zone will be charged for a single, continuous trip.

- Enhanced service on Metrobus routes 11Y and 10A, ART43, DASH AT3 and AT4.

Customers should also consider Metrobus, Arlington Transit (ART), and Fairfax Connector for alternate routes.
Metrobus
10A Huntington - Pentagon (regular timetable)
- Service during rush hours will be doubled to about every 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes
10E Hunting Point - Pentagon - Rosslyn
11Y Mt. Vernon Express
- Service during rush hours will be doubled along the entire route to about every 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes
Arlington Transit (ART)
ART43 Crystal City - Rosslyn
- FREE DASH bus service will run on the AT3 and AT4 routes to provide a direct connection between Braddock Rd and Pentagon stations. Service will be extended and added midday to operate every 20 minutes from 5 a.m. - 8 p.m. weekdays.

Supplemental Express Service to Pentagon:
Franconia-Springfield - Pentagon
- FREE Metrobus and Fairfax Connector special weekday rush hour express shuttle bus service will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Pentagon. (Timetable)

Gambrill Road Park & Ride
Saratoga Park & Ride
Passengers who use Metro to travel to Alexandria or South Arlington may want to consider these options:
Catch a Virginia Railway Express train at Franconia-Springfield and ride to King Street or Crystal City;
Ride a Lake Ridge – Mark Center OmniRide bus or a Dale City – Mark Center OmniRide bus and transfer at the Mark Center to a Metrobus or the Alexandria DASH bus.
- For riders from southern Fairfax County and Alexandria, consider riding VRE from Franconia-Springfield or King Street Alexandria to access Crystal City, L’Enfant Plaza, and Union Station
PARKING
- If you park and ride at Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn St, or Huntington, consider other county Park & Ride facilities or parking on the Green Line.
BIKING
Capital Bikeshare - A bike transit service of the departments of transportation in the District of Columbia, Arlington County, the City of Alexandria and Montgomery County.
- Stations are located at Crystal City, Pentagon City, Braddock Road, and King Street stations, as well as many other locations in South Arlington and Alexandria. As an alternative to regular membership options (starting at $8/day), CaBi is offering a flat $2 fare for single trips under 30 minutes.
