Second Early Voting Location For Primary Elections Sought In Alexandria
The Alexandria Electoral Board has proposed using a satellite early voting location for primary elections as well.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A second early voting location for primary elections could be offered in Alexandria with approval from City Council.
A proposal from the Alexandria Electoral Board headed to City Council seeks Charles Beatley Central Library as a satellite early voting location for future primary elections. The proposal also calls for the Electoral Board to determine how many days the location will be open, based on expected need for each primary election. First reading of the proposal is scheduled at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
Beatley Library is already a satellite early voting location for select days during general elections. The Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 N. Royal Street, #100, has been the early voting location for primary elections.

According to a memo provided to City Council, Beatley Library became a satellite voting location for the last days of early voting in the 2012 presidential election. The library was made a permanent early voting location before November general elections in 2013. It has accounted for 23 to 37 percent of in-person early votes since 2012.
The next primary election in Alexandria could be on June 17, 2025 if there are multiple party candidates for Virginia governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and House of Delegates.
