Torpedo Factory's Target Gallery is holding a week-long exhibit of the selected work from Mar. 6 through Mar. 13

Seven new artists have been chosen to be part of the Torpedo Factory Artists’ Association through an annual jury process that was held Feb. 28 through Mar. 3.
An outside panel of art experts made the selection from among 68 artists who applied during this year’s jury process. The experts currently work in venues such as the Philips Collection in Dupont Circle and American University.
The Torpedo Factory's Target Gallery is holding a week-long exhibit of the selected work from Mar. 6 through Mar. 13, with a closing reception Sunday, Mar. 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The two-dimensional newly juried artists include mixed media artist Julian Parker-Burns, who creates visions of converging moments through the compiling, cutting, and layering of photographs and hand applying pigments. Two other newly juried 2-D Artists include fine art photographer Sandy LeBrun-Evans and painter Margaret Cerutti.
Two ceramic artists were selected from among the 3-D applicants. Klaudia Levin and Vivian Johnson. Sculptor Erwin Timmers, who works with recycled glass and metal objects, and jeweler Wiwat Kamolpornwijit who hand forms original polymer clay jewelry using caning, weaving, layering, and other methods, were also among the 3-D artists selected in this year’s annual jury process.
