Shake Shack Planning To Open Location In Alexandria; 7th In Northern Virginia

Shake Shack, a fast food chain known for its burgers, crinkle fries and custard shakes, is looking to open a location on King Street.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Shake Shack is expanding more in the region, with plans to open a future location in Old Town Alexandria.

According to a special use permit application filed with the City of Alexandria, Shake Shack is seeking to open at 621 King Street, which is near the busy intersection of King and Washington Streets.

Proposed hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. There are 36 indoor seats proposed at the restaurant. Dine-in and takeout services are planned, and delivery may be offered through third-party services.

According to the application, the chain anticipates 70 percent or orders at the Alexandria location would be takeout, mobile app orders or third-party delivery, and 30 percent or less would be eaten on site.

Shake Shack has other Northern Virginia locations at Tysons Corner Center and Pike 7 in Tysons, Ballston and Pentagon City in Arlington, the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly and Mosaic District in Merrifield. The chain's menu focuses on fast food options like burgers, chicken, hot dogs, crinkle fries and frozen custard shakes. Locations also have selections of beer and wine.
