Stolen Vehicle Pursuit South Of Alexandria Leads To Arrest
State police got help from Fairfax County and Alexandria police in pursuit of a stolen vehicle on Route 1 Monday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A pursuit of a stolen vehicle south of Alexandria City Monday led to one arrest, according to Virginia State Police.
The pursuit started around 3 a.m. Monday when state police tried to stop a stolen vehicle at Route 1 and Quander Road. The vehicle did not stop and continued on Route 1, driving into oncoming southbound lanes. The vehicle tried to get into the northbound lanes and struck the raised concrete median, according to state police.
Three suspects then fled on foot. A Fairfax County K9 unit, the Fairfax County helicopter, and Alexandria police officers helped state troopers locate the vehicle's driver. The other two suspects were not located.

The suspect driver, who state police did not yet publicly identify, will be charged with auto theft, eluding, wearing a mask, and driving without a license. The driver is also wanted in Maryland for a stolen vehicle offense.
State police did not have any additional information about the pursuit.
