ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra presented its annual pops concert Saturday night as part of the City of Alexandria’s 267th Birthday Celebration.

Free and open to the public, the event began at 5 p.m., with a concert by the orchestra at 8:30 p.m., with highlights from the upcoming 2016-2017 season. The orchestra provided the soundtrack to Alexandria’s spectacular fireworks display with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, movie themes and patriotic favorites, conducted by Maestra Victoria Gau.
