1. Questions remain on I-81 bridge project (montcova.com) — Drivers using I-81 at Exit 105 to Radford should know the new northbound bridge over the New River still has an unopened, uneven section that will require more work in spring 2026, though VDOT says it’s safe to use now. The $62.2 million project replaced both the I-81 bridge and the Route 232 bridge at the Radford exit, adding longer ramps and wider shoulders for safety.
   

2. Radford Foundry revitalization progressing (wsls.com) — A long-idle industrial tract in Radford is being reborn through a $3.5 million state-backed revitalization that city leaders hope will attract a major employer and more than 1,000 jobs. Crews are remediating contamination, removing a massive concrete pad, and preparing the former Radford Foundry site to once again become a key economic engine for the city and New River Valley.
   

3. Radford sweeps VHSL Class 2 volleyball honors (wsls.com) — Radford High School volleyball capped its championship season with a clean sweep of VHSL Class 2’s top honors, as senior setter Mattox Adams earned Player of the Year and coach Karen Adams took Coach of the Year. Several Bobcats made the all-state teams, highlighting Radford’s dominance in a 25-1, title-winning campaign.
   

4. Wright, Douglas (nrvnews.com) — Radford residents are notified of the passing of 65-year-old Douglas “Doug” Wright, whose family is being served by Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. Remembered for his love of music, flat-foot dancing, and National Geographic, he leaves behind close family and many friends who will miss him deeply.
