The Closet of The Greater Herndon Area, Inc. Announces Grant Recipients
$53,000 in recent grants
The Closet of the Greater Herndon Area, Inc., is proud to announce the decision to award $53,000 in grant funding to local shelters and nonprofits serving individuals and families in need of food assistance this winter. Some of these partners include
- Cornerstones
- LINK, Inc.
- …and several other organizations working every day to combat hunger and support vulnerable communities.
The grants are made possible in part by The Closet customers, donors, volunteers, and supporters of The Closet Thrift Shop. All donations and purchases directly fuel the resources The Closet is able to pour back into the local community.
At The Closet, giving back is not seasonal, it is something done in real-time, every single day. “Through our voucher program, families receive free clothing and household essentials. Through our thrift store operations, we generate funding that supports dozens of nonprofits across the region. And through initiatives like our Holiday Food Drive, we work alongside our community to meet immediate needs with dignity and compassion,” said Gene Wiley, President, The Closet.
