Reston College Students Earn Accolades From Their Schools
Patch highlights the academic achievements of college students from the Reston area.

RESTON, VA — To shine a light on the academic achievements of college students from the Reston area, Patch shares information provided by the students' families and Merit News.
Yusuf Hassan and Kira Ketelhut of Reston were among the 291 student athletes at Shenandoah University to be named Academic All-ODAC by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Student-athletes who posted at least a 3.25 GPA for the 2021-22 academic year were recognized with this honor.
The following students received degrees during the May 17-22 Spring Grad Walk 2022 at University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi, Maryland:

- John Michael Karkovice of Reston, bachelor of science summa cum laude in computer networks and cybersecurity
- Danielle Renea Starks of Reston, master of science in information technology
Katherine Weiss of Reston was named to the spring 2022 chancellor's list at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. To qualify for the chancellor's list, students must earn a GPA of 3.8 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Rochester Institute of Technology conferred more than 4,300 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2021-2022 academic year, including the following students:

- Bryan Lukehart-Yun of Reston received a BS in mechanical engineering.
- Preston Sulfstede of Reston received a BS in public policy.
- Anna Volpova of Reston received an MS in computing security.
- Joshua McFadden of Reston received a BS in computing security.
- Peter Stluka of Reston received a BS/ME in mechanical engineering.
- Arthur Tisseront of Reston received a BS in game design and development.
Kahlil Dover of Reston graduated cum laude in May from Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business - Blackwood Program in Real Estate. He is one of Pamplin's three "Students of Distinction" honorees, earning the H.H. Mitchell Outstanding Leadership Award. Dover was named an Academic All-State Honoree by the Virginia Sports Information Directors. As well as serving as the Virginia Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president, Dover was named the 2021-22 SAAC Member of the Year. In 2021, Dover received the Skelton Award. Last season, Dover scored two goals and provided two assists, none more important than his game-winning tally against Campbell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
