Giant Construction Firm To Consolidate Global HQ In Reston

RESTON, VA -- Bechtel, a global powerhouse in the construction and engineering industries, has recently announced it will consolidate its global headquarters in Reston.

Fairfax County Economic Development Authority president Gerald Gordon said in a statement that this is the third time that EDA has worked with Bechtel on expanding its presence in the Reston area.

"I am delighted to see that the company can take advantage of the kinds of business and quality-of-life assets that Fairfax County has developed for corporate headquarters and employees," he said. "It is also a tremendous corporate citizen, so the community will benefit tremendously as the company continues to expand its presence here."

Jack Futcher, chief operating officer of Bechtel, said in the statement that consolidating corporate leadership and operations in Reston will "enable the company to thrive in the current fast-paced business environment – one that demands faster and seamless decision-making, integration, and collaboration."

Bechtel is located at 12011 Sunset Hills Road, just outside of Reston Town Center.

The company is the largest construction firm in the United States, and the 8th-largest privately owned American company.
