Kitchen Fire Damages Reston Home

Investigators say food left unattended on stove caused Monday blaze on Saint Trinians Court.

A kitchen fire caused about $100,000 of damage to a townhouse on Saint Trinaians Court in Reston on Monday.

Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department units said they responded to the fire at 11881 Saint Trinains Court about 2:45 p.m.

There was heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the three-story, middle townhouse upon arrival. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. They said they were were able to contain the fire to the first floor, however, there was significant smoke damage throughout the home.

No one was home when the fire broke out. A neighbor called 911 when they noticed smoke coming from the home. There were no injuries. Three adults and a child have been displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental when food was left unattended on the stove.
