RESTON, VA — A simple phone sale turned ugly in Reston when the seller took the money and then punched the buyer in the face, police say.

The victim arranged to buy a cell phone through an online seller and went to meet the seller in the 1500 block of Northgate Square at around 5:53 p.m. on Oct. 3, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"When they met, the victim gave a man money for the phone and was punched in the face," the report states. "The suspect fled the area in a black sedan."

Police arrested 18-year-old Monzir Hassan of Reston nearby on a charge of robbery, the report states.
