RESTON, VA — If you're planning on taking the Metro in Reston this weekend, now's the time to make alternate plans: the station will be closed entirely both Saturday and Sunday, WMATA says.

You'll need to take a shuttle bus to the Spring Hill station in order to get on the Metro, whether you're going to work or headed to see the Nats take on the Dodgers on Sunday (or the Capitals' home opener Saturday night).

"Due to Silver Line phase 2 tie-in, free shuttle buses replace Silver Line trains between Spring Hill and Wiehle-Reston East," WMATA said in a statement.

In addition, trains will operate on regular weekend intervals (every 12-15 minutes) between Spring Hill and New Carrollton.

Work on the Silver Line Phase 2 project will continue throughout this year and into next, as Metro struggles to keep new stations at Reston Town Center, Herndon, Dulles Airport, and Loudoun County on time in the wake of various problems that have been cropping up in recent months. As a result, Reston riders may see more issues like this into 2020.
