New Turn Lane Opens In Reston
A new left-turn lane in Reston has just been opened and is available to commuters.

RESTON, VA — Commuters turning left from westbound Route 7 to Baron Cameron Avenue in Reston have more room to do so, with the Virginia Department of Transportation opening a third left-turn lane.
Authorities hope the new lane will ease congestion in the intersection, especially with construction continuing between Reston Avenue and Jarrett Valley Drive as part of the Route 7 Corridor Improvements project, VDOT said in a statement.
"This is the first in a set of major improvements along the seven-mile corridor that broke ground earlier this summer, including adding a third lane in each direction, building shared-use paths along each side, replacing and raising the bridge over Difficult Run, adding a pedestrian underpass for Colvin Run Mill Park access, and other intersection, bicycle and pedestrian improvements along the corridor (see a detailed list of improvements)," VDOT added. "The entire project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2024."
