Police: 20 People Displaced by Herndon Crash
Watch: Plane crash wreckage hauled away from Dulles Green Apartments by 7 a.m. Friday.
Neighbors at Herndon's Dulles Green Apartments watched as authorities used a crane to remove the Cessa 177B from a second-story unit early Friday.
The plane, whose pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing at nearby Dulles International Airport, instead crashed into the apartment shortly after midnight Friday.
Five people were in the apartment. None were seriously injured. The pilot, William Larson of Vienna, was also not seriously injured.
