Weekend Pick: Ukulele Festival at Lake Anne

Tiny strings at Lake Anne Plaza Saturday.

Mark your calendars: the sounds of tiny strings return Lake Anne Plaza at  Saturday's Ukulele Festival.

The free music festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It will feature performances by several internationally known and local ukulele musicians, music demonstrations, public jam session, beer garden, festival vendors, and other family friendly activities. 

The event will kick off during the Saturday Farmers & Arts/Craft Market. The festival will be held rain or shine.

11:00AM – 11:30 AM – Emerging Artists
11:45AM – 12:15PM - Lelehuna (Hawaiian)

1:00PM – 1:30PM - The Aloha Boys (Hawaiian)

1:45PM – 2:45PM  - Special Guest Performers

3:00PM – 3:30PM - Pat Quinn & Gina DeSimone (Blues)

3:45PM – 4:15PM - Cali Rose & Craig Brandau

4:30- 5:30PM - Paul Hemmings Uketet (Jazz)

5:30PM - Open Jam Session (public participation welcomed)

The festival is hosted by the Lake Anne Merchants with support from the Reston Community Center, Friends of Lake Anne (FOLA), Northern Virginia Magazine and the Northern Virginia Ukulele Ensemble.
