'Genuine Friend To His Peers': Keysville Star Student

KEYSVILLE, VA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Koeden deserves to be recognized as a star student for so many big accomplishments he achieved this year! Achieving honor roll ALL year and still going! - Being selected as one of very FEW elementary students to attend a field trip to Washington D.C. for his academic achievements and hard work throughout this year! -Joining the school safety committee! Of which he needed at least one written letter of recommendation by an educator. He was written 3 recommendations by educators from school! - He has participated in numerous extracurricular activities throughout the year such as basketball, currently on the soccer team, after school program, and is signed up to participate in few different sports camps teams this summer!

He cares for and has so much love for ALL animals including ALL his pets at home! Dogs, cats, and farm animals too. -Designing his own video game with his best friend!

Aside from Koeden's academic accomplishments being my influence to nominate him for Star Student he is also deserving for his kindness and judgment-free heart. Koeden proves to be a very kind, compassionate, and genuine friend to his peers. A young man that accepts everyone for who they are inside and out! He makes friends or simple conversation in public everywhere he goes without effort! To say I'm proud of my son for all he has achieved, overcome and grown from this year would be an understatement to how truly PROUD and HONORED I am to have Koeden as my son!!! You are my star student always!
