Here are the top three stories today in Richmond:
- Police in Richmond responded to a shooting incident on Nine Mile Road, which left two men injured. One victim was taken to a hospital by the police, while the other injured man drove himself to a hospital. Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover. The shooting occurred in the same area as a tragic quadruple shooting in 2021 that resulted in the death of two children and caused a public outcry. (WRIC ABC 8News)
- Richmond Police are investigating an unnamed towing company in the third precinct area, after receiving reports of unauthorized towing and overcharging of fees. Although the company has not been named, police have served them with a warrant for their records, and have identified some potential victims who have been contacted. An ongoing investigation is underway, and anyone who believes they may have been a victim of illegal towing practices can report it to the police via email at towinginvestigation@rva.gov.
