• Richmond receives $250K grant to advance clean energy, create jobs (wric.com) — Richmond has secured a $250,000 national grant to jump-start more affordable solar and battery projects that could lower energy bills and create local jobs. Partnering with the Community Climate Collaborative, the city will design new financing tools over the next six months to expand clean energy access and move closer to its RVAgreen 2050 goals.
   

• Police: Man wounded in Richmond shooting; investigation ongoing (wtvr.com) — A man was shot Saturday morning in Richmond’s Northside, on the 1000 block of St. James Street in Gilpin Court, and is expected to survive. Richmond Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously by phone, online, or through the P3 Tips app.
   

• Richmond groups 'just trying to give back' turn food giveaway into holiday celebration (wtvr.com) — Richmond families in need can still pick up free toys and shoes at the Rock Foundation on West Marshall Street in the days leading up to Christmas. Local nonprofits teamed up after a food giveaway to create a full holiday celebration, offering everything from Legos to bikes and emphasizing that every child in the city deserves to feel remembered and cared for.
