2025 Walk to End Alzhimer's Roanoke Raises $155,000 to Fight Alzheimer's disease
Brookdale Roanoke Named Top Fundraising Team

Participants in the 2025 WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S in Roanoke raised $155,000 to support the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association.
“The Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Virginia sincerely thanks the many dedicated Walk participants, volunteers and sponsors who made the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s a tremendous success,” said Jeanne Snyder, Community Executive. “The funds raised will help fuel disease research while also providing critical care and support to individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia.”
Brookdale Roanoke was the top fundraising team at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s Roanoke, raising more than $27,000.

“As a local memory care provider, we see every day how Alzheimer’s and dementia can impact individuals and families,” Brookdale Roanoke Executive Director Aaron Rice said. “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated to our team and to all who support the Alzheimer’s Association. This cause is close to our hearts, and the generosity of our community reminds us why we do what we do: to help bring hope, compassion, and support to those living with Alzheimer’s and the people who love them.”
578 people were registered for the Walk this year on 96 teams at Wasena Park on Oct. 18. WDBJ’s Natalie Fauce was the host of the opening ceremony.

More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease – a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 12 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. In Virginia there are more than 165,000 people living with the disease and 324,000 caregivers.
