Meet A Future Leader In Roanoke: Elise Dearstyne
Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.

The future of Roanoke is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Elise Dearstyne, who are making a positive impact in and around Roanoke.
Elise, a soon-to-be-graduate of Roanoke Catholic School, is already making an impact in the community. In 2024, she was honored with the Virginia 4-H Youth in Action Award for Civic Engagement. As part of the award, Elise received a $500 mini-grant to develop a community project and a full scholarship to attend the Virginia State 4-H Congress at Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus.
Elise’s leadership extends to multiple roles, including Teen Lead for VA 4-H, Teen Summit Ambassador Captain for 4-H Equity & Inclusion and Advocacy Director for VA VOT. She has also participated in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, where she built lasting connections and developed valuable leadership skills.
