Sol Roots Band (Funk, Soul, Blues) with Star City Swag (Jazz, Blues) perform for Floyd Small Town Summer Concerts on Thursday Aug 3rd.
The Town of Floyd continues its 6th Annual Floyd Small Town Summer series with their End of Summer Celebration featuring music from headliner Sol Roots Band and opening band Star City Swag on Thursday, August 3, 2023 outside at Warren G. Lineberry Memorial Park.
Event Schedule:
• 6:00 PM: Gates Open
• 6:15 PM: Shawn Spencer & Star City Swag in Concert
• 7:15 PM: Sol Roots Band in Concert
The Town of Floyd offers this series of free events to provide a fun, family-friendly atmosphere in downtown Floyd, VA. Featuring music, movies, face-painting, inflatables, games, food and beverage and special activities presented by a variety of community organizations!

The Sol Roots band performs a mix of New Orleans influenced funk, raw blues, energetic rock, greasy soul, and hypnotic rhythms. Sol is a fiery guitarist and soulful vocalist who has toured around the world with many musical legends.

The Sol Roots band has shared the stage with acts such as Jon Cleary, Soulive, Cory Henry, Dumpstaphunk, The Wood Brothers, Robert Randolph, Eric Lindell, Booker T Jones, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene.
Paying homage to the greats, and with a love of Universal Music as the guiding light, Sol steps out on a path with a powerful group unique and talented band of musicians.
Star City Swag performs straight-ahead jazz and vocals honoring the greats from a by-gone era like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Carmen McCrae and many more!
Floyd Small Town Summer Concerts features some of the best in national, regional, and local musical talent with spotlights on Americana, folk, blues, Latin, jazz, soul, funk, bluegrass, sacred steel, Cajun, and country.
Other fantastic acts on this year's concert series include Victoria Victoria, Charlie Hunter, DaShawn Hickman, Bio Ritmo, Beleza Music, Jonathan Scales, JP Harris and many more.
