1.2K Tech Jobs Coming to Fairfax County in the Next Five Years

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced that Favor TechConsulting, is investing $1.65 million to expand in the Tysons Corner area.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced this week that fast-growing Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC), which provides IT solutions to the federal government, is investing $1.65 million to expand in Virginia as it establishes its principal headquarters in the Tysons Corner area of Fairfax County. The company will fulfill additional contracts with federal agencies, creating up to 1,200 new jobs over five years.

FTC is a service-disabled veteran-owned, woman-owned and minority-owned small business that delivers information management and information technology services to a wide variety of federal government clients. In 2016, the company ranked no. 405 on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies, and ranked no. 7 on the Washington Technology Fast 50 list of fastest-growing small businesses in the government market. In October 2016, the company announced that it received 10 Department of Veterans Affairs task orders valued at $112 million under the VA’s Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation contract.

“Fairfax County is proud to be home to many successful minority- and veteran-owned companies and delighted to welcome FTC to the business community,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. “This is a great location for FTC to grow because the county economy is so strong in IT and professional services, has the kind of IT-savvy workforce that the company needs, proximity to a huge number of public- and private-sector clients, and has the kind of educational offerings and amenities that companies want for their employees.”

"FTC is very excited to be a part of the Commonwealth of Virginia’s and Fairfax County’s efforts in diversifying and expanding its economy and job market,” said Vaseal Montgomery, FTC founder and CEO. “Relocating our headquarters office to Tysons Corner affords us opportunities to hire the premier talent in the Washington area while being very central to our surrounding customer base.”

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) will support Favor TechConsulting’s new job creation through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). State-funded VJIP provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs or experiencing technological change to support employee training activities.
