Carjacking Suspects Throw Liquid On Victim, Steal SUV In Tysons: Cops
Fairfax County police charged a 14-year-old male from Maryland in connection with a carjacking at Tysons Corner Center Thursday evening.

TYSONS, VA — Two carjacking suspects took a driver’s keys and threw liquid on him in a parking garage at Tysons Corner Center early Thursday evening as they stole his SUV, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Detectives from the FCPD's Major Crimes Bureau charged a 14-year-old male from Maryland in connection with the carjacking at Tysons Corner Center.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., detectives from the FCPD's Tysons Urban Team responded to a parking garage in the 7900 block of Tysons Corner Center for the report of a carjacking.

Police learned that two juvenile suspects approached the victim, an adult man, who was sitting in his car, and knocked on his window. When the man got out of his car, the juveniles threatened to throw “acid” on the victim, police said.
One of the juvenile suspects entered the victim’s car while the other suspect threw green liquid, which was later determined to be liquid sour candy, on the victim. The suspects fled the area in the victim’s 2022 BMW X5, according to police.

An off-duty D.C. Metropolitan Police Department detective saw the vehicle fleeing and coordinated with Montgomery County Police Department as it entered Maryland. Montgomery County Police took one of the juvenile suspects into custody. The stolen vehicle also was recovered, police said.
FCPD detectives obtained petitions charging the juveniles with carjacking. The suspect who has not been caught is described as a Hispanic male, about 5-feet, 3-inches tall, with short black hair, wearing black pants, a black shirt, and red and white sneakers, police said.
The victim did not report any injuries, police said.
